Deck of "LOVE" cards

I have seen so many tutorials for making these. There may as well be one more!

Supplies: deck of cards, paper, scissors, pens/markers, glue, stickers/embellishments, hole punch, 2-1"rings, and time (& a place to hide all this stuffs as it takes a while to make).

part of the supplies

First I cut out paper to cover the center of the card. Leaving the value and suit visible on the edges. Then I wrote my "loving thoughts," decorated and embellished. I also wrote a note for the last card (my other joker card).

"thoughts" papers all done

I laid them all out and arranged them for me to easily pick up and for visual impact. I tried to avoid the same color in a row.
all layed out, glueing in progress

I punched the first card, measured in from the edges to make the holes are an even distance from the edges. Then stack a few unpunched cards with the only punched card on top. Using 2 binder clips to secure the stack, I punched away. I saved the 2 jokers for the cover pages. If your deck comes with 4, use the extra 2 cards for more loving quotes from your sweet head!
Cards clipped tightly for the hole punch

I scratched up the portion of the card I would be glueing my "thoughts" paper over. I just used a pair of scissors partially opened and rubbed the tips all over. Avoid the value/suit on the edges, since that's the part which will be visible. Or scratch it up and it will look more worn out. Which ever! Only my front cover card didn't get scratched all over. I just scarred the areas that would need glue.

I then used Elmer's stick glue (the kind that goes on purple then dries clear, I liked being able to see where and how much I've applied) or any good adhesive and smeared more than needed. I wanted to secure the edges well. Glue the "thoughts" papers down with the holes on your left (book style)! I rubbed the extra glue down each edge and up over the top. Basically sealing it. Repeat 51 more times.

Then arrange your cards as desired, mine are in suits in order, and connect them all with 2 -1" rings.
all bound together
Wrap them up and give to your best friend!

Butterfly/Moth Venn

I am currently teaching a class for 1-3rd graders covering insects. I am very pleased how my Venn diagram turned out. Shows the differences and similarities. The kids loved it.

Fabric covered binders

I found the cutest fabric at Walmart on Monday in sale for $1.50 a yard. I covered one binder to test the adhesion process. I will need to use a stronger glue to keep the edges attached. But the spray adhesive keeps the fabric from shifting.

I may hot glue some quilt binding on the edges to give it a more finished look and to secure the edges.

But really isn't the fabric super!!!!

What I wore on friday

I am so bad when it comes to fashion and looking put together, so now I am attempting to document all the outfits I wear.

Fabric letters

I found an amazing tutorial on these super cute fabric letters. I have made two sets for the littlest people in my family. They were easy but took about 3 hours to make.

Pillows

I was having a difficult time deciding what I was going to make or give to my littlest sister. After talking to her husband I decided black and white decorations for her living room where the right gift. I've been wanting an excuse to try making these pillows. Thanks Sis!

As you can see on the lighter pillow they are both easy to remove for washing.
